The Reconstruction Report: I’m a GhostWriter Now (Week 7/12)
Letter 009: Die On The Road
Quick & Dirty, Dear Reader. This week we’re rolling quick, and dirty.
I. The Captain’s Log
It was always part of the plan.
Maybe a few dozen phases early, but it was always there…tucked somewhere between “build the thing” and “watch the thing work”, but there!
This week, someone reached out and asked what services I provide.
Years of front-loading finally rushing through to close the gap between input and return. And because I built in public, opportunity came to me instead of the other way around.
Very Groovy.
I spent years consuming everything I could find about making content. Books, articles, podcasts, late-night rabbit holes. Then I went from typical consumer to spinning up over 15 platforms across three systems, effectively managed mind you, in under 45 days.
So maybe it was obvious this would happen eventually.
The only thing that stings is wondering what might have come sooner if I’d started building from day one instead of spending literal years preparing to build...
Which is why I keep preaching the same thing on repeat today:
Get it Going. Get it Good. Then be confident while you work it Groovy. "Pack" whatever you need, And just start the work; Learn on the way, Die On The Road. You’ll learn from the struggles. You’ll bounce back better than before.
Better than before,
Like when my vault got infected and I had to start over. Or when my files were lost and I had to start over. Or when my life imploded and I had to start over. Or when…
You registering what I’m transmitting here? Picketh up what I throw down brethren?
II. This Week’s Work:
Full website audit, content strategy analysis, drafted articles, posts, and a schedule through year’s end. Client work ate most of my free time, and even I’m getting embarrassed tired of placing “I’m not where I planned to be, but I’m further than I should be” on the altar of my progress reports.
But I’m a GhostWriter now. And it’s Groovy.
There’s more minor updates and bits of progress from the here’s and there’s, but I’m saving it for next week so we’re all in the right...
Holiday break incoming. Loads of admin, some ^ “Operational Prep”, and a logistical run to Chicago are all on the upcoming agenda.
III. Lesson of the Week:
Blessings come from unexpected places, at unexpected times. Make sure you’re ready to receive them; you never know how impactful they’ll be when they land at your feet.
