Two articles dropped late. The schedule I’d mapped out got slagged. But here’s what I learned from buying the wrong boat and starting from zero: timelines can burn, but momentum matters more.

The Lesson
I’m exhausted. My mind is fried from integrating audio, catching up on side projects, and keeping the 1,000-hour tutorial and Print On Demand operations moving forward.
Then there’s that whole “year of our crisis: 2025” thing going on…
But I’m proud.
Not because everything went according to plan, it definitely did *not*. But because when the timeline broke, I didn’t quit. I adjusted. I shipped anyway. I found a new way to deliver the same value.
I needed this win. So I’ll grandstand for a moment longer…
That’s the difference between building and planning.
Planners wait for perfect conditions. Builders ship with what they’ve got and iterate in public.
I missed the timeline mark. I surpassed the quality mark. That’s the trade I’ll take every single time.
Behind the Bulkhead
The truth nobody sees: I almost didn’t launch the audio this week. The voice in my head said “wait until you have better equipment” and “maybe record a few test runs first” and “what if people don’t like how you sound?”
all manner of internal foolishness going on…
Then I remembered standing in La Sirena’s cockpit with a dead engine and a Friday deadline. I remembered that buying the wrong boat taught me more than six months of research ever could.
Made me realize how a negative situation can truly make you forget who you are. I was never a pro by any means, but… I was afraid to do something that I’d already done before.
If you’re anything like me, you gotta get out of your head, Beratna.
I hit record. Used the mic I purchased on an impulse buy. Published the first two episodes.
Now there’s audio. Now there’s proof. Now there’s momentum that didn’t exist 72 hours ago.
The lesson: Your excuses are more polished than they need to be. Your work doesn’t have to be. Also, because this has to be said: when you START doing things, NEW things become available. You can’t drive until you can walk. But you have to try to stand before you can think about anything beyond crawling.
